Students from Entertainment Design, from both the Game Design and Concept Tracks, have created a prototype physical experience in the South Campus parking lot for their final project.
Presented by:
Avery Taylor, Simon Smith, Sammy Gerolaga (Game Design)
Stella Golden. Nicholas Huang, Wilson Huang, Jenelle (Jiawen) Yuan (Concept)
This prototype requires players to engage in a physical experience and work together as a team in an interactive gamified immersive set.
Join Wendy the Witch's crew and help turn this struggling magical food business venture around as you embark through a gamified food truck experience. Work together in three different roles as you take and make orders throughout various magical lands.
This is a collaborative project from our Game Design for Themed Entertainment class taught by Justin Finuliar and Fernando Olmedo, with the support of our Game Development 4 class taught by Tim FitzRandolph.
About Game Design for Themed Entertainment
Students with an interest and focus in entertainment design will develop game design and themed entertainment skill sets in conjunction with a community partner and guided by faculty. From reenvisioning classic analog games, to exploring the latest in industry standard technologies, students will explore real-life applications by focusing on the needs of a case study example through a professional partnership. Students will go from concept, to product testing, and to final advanced prototype/product—developing for out-of-home visitor attractions and experiences.
About Game Development 4
An advanced-level class in the technologies of game development. A follow-up to the Game Development 3 class, this course will introduce more advanced concepts in 3D game development such as AI (artificial intelligence) and sandbox gameplay. Students will also be introduced to other industry standard game engines.
